A 13-year-old lady from Winnipeg died and two different Winnipeggers have been injured following a two-vehicle collision on Freeway 1 close to Portage la Prairie on Monday afternoon.
The RCMP stated the investigation has decided that an eastbound automobile, containing a 36-year-old feminine driver together with two feminine passengers, a 13-year-old and 10-year-old, all from Winnipeg, was turning north onto Freeway 26 when it entered the intersection and was struck by a westbound automobile, being pushed by a 44-year-old male from Winnipeg.
The 13-year-old was later pronounced lifeless on the scene. The 36-year-old and 10-year-old have been each taken to hospital with non-life threatening accidents. The 44-year-old male driver was handled and launched on the scene.
Seat-belts have been in use on the time of the collision and alcohol isn’t believed to be an element.
